Calgary seo outsourcing firm shuts down due to financial problems
A Calgary-based outsourcing company that used to handle the operations of some of the world’s largest online resellers has closed down due the difficulties with its business, a spokesperson said.
Calgary-based Seo Company International Inc., started in 2005, used to provide services for companies including Amazon, eBay and Walmart.
Its services included online ordering and payment processing for companies such as Amazon, Apple, eBay, Disney, AmazonFresh and Wal-Mart.
In a statement Thursday, the company said it has been in discussions with the owner of a Calgary-area business and has concluded that the financial challenges associated with the business have made the company’s business viability impossible.
It is with this in mind that Seo International Inc. has closed its doors effective immediately.
The company said in a statement that it has now been closed for the foreseeable future and that it will be doing all that it can to return to business as normal.
Seo International is a subsidiary of Seo Inc., a Calgary company that provides online ordering services to the online shopping and shipping marketplaces.
The Calgary-headquartered company provides online orders processing services for eBay, Walmart and AmazonFresh.
In its statement, the Calgary-headed company said the closure of Seolie is a loss for its customers and a loss to the Calgary community.
The closure of the company means that a significant portion of the approximately 2,700 jobs that were created in 2017 will not be able to continue to function.
In addition to the closures, the Canadian Competition Bureau has said it is considering further action against Seo.
